The Neighborhood: Directly up the hill from Main Street. Brewery is only about 12 blocks away. The Hospital and College are close! Blocks from Downtown and lots of fun - Martini Bar, Creamery (Brew Pub), Irish Pub, and a lot of Restaurants. Plus the Hospital and College are not far away! Close to Klamath Lake, walking trails, Klamath Yacht Club and a Golf Course as well. Ross Ragland Theater is about 10 blocks down the street - catch a play or watch a musical! Getting Around: Bus stops just down the street if you don't want to drive! There are several museums on Main Streets and a few Antique shops as well. Crater Lake is only an hour away and you can rent bikes downtown (plus even bike racks if you are renting a car)! Other Things to Note: This home has an alarm system and a code will be sent to you the day of your arrival. Codes change with each guest. We are having a problem with unauthorized guests. If you book for one - I will prep the Master King bedroom suite and lock the other bedrooms. If you book for two - I will assume you are sharing the King Suite unless notified and lock the other bedrooms. We bill $35 per night for each unauthorized guest. My prices are setup for one person occupancy as this is my typical guest. Please honor my booking rules and book for the exact number of guests that will be occupying my home. Please do not leave the patio doors open for an extended period of time as bugs can enter the home. There is no feasible way for me to put screens on this double door. The front door has a storm screen door and all the windows in the bedrooms have screens. This home was built in the 1990s - so while this home is clean, and the Master jetted tub was recently installed, the 2nd bathtub does not have a new white look if it was ever white. It is now a beige color and it has normal stains from years of use. It is clean & sanitary and we use Magic Erasers on it regularly. But please do not expect it to be pearly white. These are things that may not be done before your move in as I do them only a few times a year And some I really hate doing like washing mini blinds. I am working on tossing those out and putting in sheer curtains instead. Much easier to keep clean. And, if you are booking last minute - they probably will not be done as I will be spending my time getting the linens washed, restocking, cleaning + sanitizing and getting your breakfast & coffee items in place. You may find dust bunnies under the furniture. I will be honest - if my Roombas do not fit under it, it will not be vacuumed under. I don't move furniture to clean. Most of it is too heavy for me to move anyways. But, luckily, the Roombas fit under almost everything. They aren't so great in tight corners though. You will not have central forced air conditioning. No one up here has that as homes were not built with it. We've never needed it as it is only hot a few weeks a year. However, I am putting in window air conditioners to keep the Master bedrooms cool. I plan to put more in as I can save up funds. You may find bugs. During mid-July to mid-September, we have massive amounts of midges. I will email you more on that but they only have 24 hour life spans and they are attracted to any form of light. So if you leave the lights on inside at night, you will have midges inside. They have no mouths but they do buzz in your ears sometimes which is rather annoying. You also may find Box Elderbugs if there is an Elderberry tree nearby. Again, I spray for these 2x a year but since I have put in the air conditioning units, they do make their way inside. They are just a nuisance as they do not bite or do any harm. You may find cobwebs as we have a ton of bugs from July to September. I do spray and I use spider bombs several times a year. I can sweep for spider webs but they can be back within the day or even hour depending on the time of year and when I last bug bombed. You may find cobwebs on the outside of the home. During the summer, I rarely power wash the exterior as I have sprayed for bugs. I think keeping bugs out is more important. Auxiliary rooms like laundry rooms, closets and basements may have cobwebs and may need updating. I have been working on upgrade my bathroom and the kitchen and making sure my beds and furniture are super comfy. Next I plan to work on landscaping and exterior painting. Then I plan to come back to my auxiliary rooms. I only have so much time and so much money to spend on improvements. I hope you can understand this. Our area has not had much prosperity and COVID has made that even worse. :( And homes in our area are older so don't expect perfection. But we boost some amazing scenery, huge open landscapes, fabulous curvy roads, an dark skies for star viewing and Crater Lake just can not be beat. It is a must see adventure. You may find dust. We are a very rural and dry area with high winds in the evening. I can dust one day and it will be back the next. I have tried my absolute best to make it as comfortable as possible and I know you will enjoy your stay! Interaction with Guests: You have full access to the living area of this home. If you need more beds – let me know. The interior space of this home is not shared. I am only a few blocks away if you need anything. We offer Dark Roast coffee and two types of Tea (usually Earl Grey & a Mint Tea), plus sugar w/honey and individual creamer containers. There are also the basics - Sea Salt & Pepper grinders, Oil spray for cooking and dish soap + Lysol for clean ups. Iron, Ironing Board + Hair Dryer if you need them. Plus there are several fabulous restaurants a block away! If you head down to Main Street - Leap of Taste has Internet and so does the Daily Bagel! History: Point Comfort Lodge was built by a railroad and lumber tycoon from the mid west in 1912. At the turn of the century it was fashionable for wealthy families on the east coast to build large summer homes in the Adirondacks. Most of these vacation homes were log cabin or mission style architecture. When the Klamath Development Company was developing the lumber harvesting business in Klamath Falls they built Point Comfort to be their vacation home at the foot of the Cascade Mountains on the shore of upper Klamath Lake. Originally, four great lodges were built on Klamath Lake; they were Eagle Ridge, Odessa, Harriman Springs (built by E.H. Harriman) and Point Comfort. Point Comfort is the only one remaining today, making her the Grand Dame of the Lake. Point Comfort was designed by a renowned craftsman style architect from Berkley California. The restoration of the Lodge took 7 years to complete from the hardwood floors, wood paneled walls to the windows and doors. 7 years to complete from the hardwood floors, wood paneled walls to the windows and doors containing 805 panes of glass. Her restoration adhering to historical guidelines has earned her a place on the National Registry of Historical Places. The Lodge’s commercial kitchen is equipped to feed many, with its Wolf range, separate icemaker, dishwasher, two refrigerators, 8 foot stainless steel sink unit and prep island with sink. Turn down the driveway and park in the 1st slot to the right. If you have a long truck bed - you will want to turn on the street above and come in the back way as it is much easier to park that way. Please note - This is a small house. While it is not small enough to be considered a tiny home - it will be too tight for 3 adults. Two adults and a child would be fine. Typically our homes are rented to traveling professionals on 3 month stays - so everything you need is in the home including the iron & ironing board and even down to a hair dryer. We are now allowing nightly & weekly stays but will always welcome longer occupancies. Refundable Security Deposit is required but only charged if there are damages, excessive cleaning &/ or items missing. Unfortunately - this platform does not allow a different security deposit for nightly stays versus monthly stays (which it should so we have to plan for monthly stays). We do ask that you tidy up the home at move out and pull off the linens and towels and please put in the hamper. We do our best to keep our homes spotless and in order to do that - we do ask that you return the home clean and in the same condition received it when you moved in so it is ready for the next guests coming in. We do clean between all guests and deep clean the homes often. Guest Access: Off street parking is accessed in back off of Hawthorne. However, I find it easier to park at the corner on Hawthorne and come down the sidewalk rather than park in back and walk up in the dark or fight the snow in the winter time. Plenty of space to relax in or take a walk in almost any direction for parks to play with kids/pets. Please be sure to pick up after your pet though. We ask that you please clean the home, pull off the bedding & linens plus clean housewares you used before vacating the home. Please clean the housewares you used before vacating the home as there is a dishwasher and dishwashing pods under the sink. I ask that you please leave the home as clean as you received the home as I need your help to keep offering my place for nightly stays. Thank you! The Neighborhood: Directly down the hill from the Hospital and College! Close to Klamath Lake, walking trails, Klamath Yacht Club and a Golf Course as well. Cinemas is 2.5 blocks up the street. I don't know about you - but I seem to only be able to go to the Movies when I am on vacation. Close to Downtown and lots of fun - Martini Bar, Creamery (Brew Pub), Irish Pub, and a lot of Restaurants. Plus the Hospital and College are not far away! Close to Klamath Lake, walking trails, Klamath Yacht Club and a Golf Course as well. Ross Ragland Theater is about 10 blocks down the street - catch a play or watch a musical! Getting Around: Bus stops near here if you don't want to drive!  There are several museums on Main Streets and a few Antique shops as well. Just let me know what you are looking to do and I can help you with your options. If you want to go to Crater Lake - the Crater Lake Trolley is a lot of fun! My guests rave about this option – ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) • See Crater Lake in a New Way!• Downtown is entirely walkable. Crater Lake is only an hour away and you can rent bikes at Hutch's Downtown (plus even bike racks if you are renting a car)! Other Things to Note: This home has an alarm system and a code will be sent to you the day of your arrival. Codes change with each guest. You can park on Iowa and walk across the street (only 4 steps). Or park on the corner on Hawthorne and come down the side walk. OR - You can park in back and walk up the lawn to the front door. I recommend parking in front and unloaded and then go up to Hawthorne and turn right at the first driveway. Park a bit back from the garage door as I keep housewares and furniture in that basement. Please do not leave the exterior doors open for an extended period of time as bugs can enter the home. Most of our doors have a storm &/or screen door and the interior windows in the bedrooms have screens so better to use those instead. This home was built in the 1930s - so while this home is clean, the bathtub does not have a new porcelain look. It is now a beige color and it has normal stains from years of use. It is clean & sanitary and we use Magic Erasers on it regularly. But please do not expect it to be pearly white. Please also note that we ask all guests to keep their areas of use free & clear of ice and snow. If there is not a snow shovel - let me know and I will bring one over. We also ask you to water during the spring/summer months especially long term guests as we do not get enough rain to keep the landscaping & lawns healthy. Interaction with Guests: You have full access to the living area of this home. If you need more beds - I have homes on either side of this house that are also Airbnbs. The interior space of this home is not shared. I am only a few blocks away if you need anything. We offer Dark Roast coffee and two types of Tea (usually Earl Grey & a Mint Tea), plus sugar w/honey and individual creamer containers. There are also the basics - Sea Salt & Pepper grinders, Oil spray for cooking and Dishsoap + Lysol for clean ups. Iron, Ironing Board + Hair Dryer if you need them. Plus there are several fabulous cafes a few blocks away! There is a new cafe in the old Rockwood Building (historical site with obsidion in the walls) just down there street and the Waffel Hut is one of my favoritre places to eat. I don't know about you - but I seem to only be able to go to the Movies when I am on vacation. Close to Downtown and lots of fun - Martini Bar, Creamery (Brew Pub), Irish Pub, and a lot of Restaurants. Plus the Hospital and College are not far away! Close to Klamath Lake, walking trails, Klamath Yacht Club and a Golf Course as well. Ross Ragland Theater is about 10 blocks down the street - catch a play or watch a musical! Getting Around: Bus stops near here if you don't want to drive!  There are several museums on Main Streets and a few Antique shops as well. The couch has a chaise built in and would sleep a smaller child rather well. Just let me know if you plan to do this so I can get twin bedding there for you. I also have a crib/toddler bed available if you need that instead. It will be tight but it should fit in front of the washer/dryer which is close to the main bedroom. If you are wondering what a tiny home would be like - this is a great trial experience! It is a super cute Smarthome (which means you control the lights via Keypads and remote controls) and it is complete with an updated kitchen, stainless steel farmsink, granite countertops, dishwasher, microhood, self-cleaning oven and a washer & dryer. Everything one needs! Please do not leave the patio doors open for an extended period of time as bugs can enter the home. There is no feasible way for me to put screens on this double door. The front door has a storm screen door and all the windows in the bedrooms have screens. This home was built in the 1980s - so while this home is clean, the bathtub does not have a new porcelain look. It is now a beige color and it has normal stains from years of use. It is clean & sanitary and we use Magic Erasers on it regularly. But please do not expect it to be pearly white. Please also note that we ask all guests to keep their areas of use free & clear of ice and snow and to water during the spring/summer months especially long term guests as we do not get enough rain to keep the landscaping & lawns healthy. This unit is part of a triplex. The main floor has a master suite with a cal king bed and a half bath. The second floor has a second master suite with a cal king bed, a third bedroom with a queen bed, a fourth bedroom with a twin over full bunk and a full bath. The resort has an 18 hole Arnold Palmer golf course, putting course and driving ranges. Take a walk on the miles of paved trails and natural trails. There are 3 restaurants, lodge, skating rink and sports center. The sports center includes a pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, spa, tennis courts, basketball court, playground, sand volleyball and horse shoes. 15 minutes from downtown Klamath Falls. Klamath has museums, antique shops and theaters. It is only an hour drive to beautiful Crater Lake National Park, 20 minutes to Crater Lake Zip Line, 40 minutes to lake of the woods and an hour to Lava Beds National Monument.

Running Y is a haven for birds, as we are in the migration path. We have resident Bald Eagles you will see year round. Wildlife abounds! Deer, fox, squirrels, cougars, bobcats, etc. There are many trails for walking, bird watching, and bike riding. In the winter the trails are used for cross-country skiing. The 9th green is great for sledding. Running Y is home to the only Arnold Palmer Golf Course in Oregon. Incredible setting and very challenging! There is also an 18 hole putting course. Our home has a King master suite downstairs with garden tub and separate shower. Due to the narrowness of the master door, it’s not really wheelchair accessible. 2 queens upstairs (one large with walk-in closet) with Jack and Jill bathroom w/tub/shower. Washer/dryer downstairs. Wood flooring in dining/kitchen area, new carpet throughout the rest of house. Vaulted wood beam ceiling in living room. HD TV in living room, Master suite, and large bedroom upstairs.
